Who We Are

The Eastern Washington University Eagles Hockey Club plays in the Pac-8 conference, part of the American Collegiate Hockey Conference's Division II. We are the 2016 & 2018 NPHC Champions.

Our Goal

To provide a team for Eastern Washington University students to compete in the sport of ice hockey at the collegiate level. The EWU Eagles Hockey Club aims to support incoming students and current students and provide positive influence that make their experience at EWU more enjoyable while playing hockey at a high level and compete on a national level.

Head Coach

Pat Hanlon

Pat Hanlon is in his 8th year with EWU Hockey and his 2nd year as the head coach. Hanlon comes to the team with many years of experience in the college coaching ranks, spending several years in the Midwest and New England working with both Men’s and Women’s teams, winning the Chicago Public School Championship and New York State Region 5 Championship in that time. Nine of Coach Hanlon’s players moved onto Division I collegiate hockey while several more continued their career at the Division III level. Two of those players, Rich Brennan and Craig Darby, went on to play in the National Hockey League.

Assistant Coach

Chris Watkins

Chris Watkins returns to Eastern Washington University Hockey for a second time. His initial journey was as a player. Chris Watkins played for the Eagles during the 2014-2015 season. Prior to that he spent time at the NJCAA level as part of the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks.

Travis Allen

Travis Allen joined the program during the 2014. Allen has over nine seasons of experience in junior and collegiate hockey as a player, game day staff member and front office member. Most recently Allen spent time with the Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL) as trainer and assistant general manager. Previously, he spent more than two seasons as an assistant equipment manager in the Western Hockey League as part of the Spokane Chiefs organization.

Tyler Pisani

Tyler Pisani joined the club in the 2015 season as the play by play voice of the program. Pisani quickly began handling all areas of media for the team and eventually began working with businesses in the community to build partnerships to grow the EWU program.
